Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA)

Maverick International Primary School (MIPS) complements your child's academic needs with a wide range of extra-curricular activities (ECA) through our affiliate arm- Maverich. We aim to make learning fun and exciting while moulding your children with good character traits along with personal, social and living skills.

Robotics

Give your children their first feel of the world of artificial intelligence (AI) and engineering with the 'Lego Robotics' club. We make use of products and programmes designed by 'Lego Mindstorms' to teach children how to build working machines, and then write codes (computer-language programme) to make their innovations come to life. While doing this, learners are also instilled with leadership and teamwork skills.

Speech & Drama

This club is an excellent way of promoting empowerment to young learners to master effective and clear communication which will turn them into confident adulats. They will use poetry, theatre, mime, puppetry, public speaking, and writing to improve their imagination and creativity. Throughout the year, students will work on a piece to be showcased at our annual 'Maverick Schools' Awards and Validation Night.'

Media Club

The club aims to nurture young journalists with a passion in writing and photography. The club is responsible for covering the school's events throughout the year, writing articles and producing the school's yearbook.

Karate

Self-defense is now an essential tool. Karate is a Japanese form of martial artwhose physical aspects seek the development and counterattacking body movement which targets the overall improvement of the individual. Your children will not only learn to defend themselves, but also to experience empathy with their peers.

Sports' Club

We offer badminton, basketball, futsal, netball, skating, table-tennis and swimming. Training sessions are held weekly and teams are sent to represent the school in tournaments and competitions. Sporting activities are necessary to keep our learners fit while fostering leadership and teamwork.

Craft Attack

Craft Attack is an extremely fun way of turning waste, recyclables and household items into work of art. Students also learn to explore culture, science, and math through these crafting activities by drawing inspiration from the real world.

Vocal Lessons

Our vocal lessons train young learners to become singers. These lessons help them prepare for a performance while helping them work on their singing technique. These singers then will join the school choir.

Hip-hop Dance/Locking dance/Popping dance/Ballet

Through dance, one gets to express oneself! We offer four different dance forms to get our learners. Dancing will boost their confidence and increase flexibility.Our dance clubs will occasionally have 'battles' to motivate students improve their repertoire and skills.

Board Games Club

The board games club aims to expose our students to various board games such as Chess, Backgammon, Checkers, etc. Board games help children develop logic and reasoning skills, improve critical thinking and boost spatial reasoning. Regular practice and activity improve these basic skills, which are essential for mental development.

Clinics (English / Malay / Science/Mathematics and Mandarin)

Does your child need extra help in the core and language subjects? We have special after-school clinics for him/her to strengthen their skills and make improvements in these subjects by working on the basics all over again to help them boost their grades.

Spelling Bee

The Spelling Bee club helps widen a learner's range of vocabulary, which in turn helps with reading and literacy. This club also aims to help students with pronunciation and phonics skills with the end goal of ultimately joining international competitions.

Debate

The debate club is a platform for learners to boos their public-speaking skills along with confidence. The club aims to encourage young learners to reason, argue and provide facts and evidence while forming opinions about anything and everything.

Interact Club

Learn the value of community service, meet other people, make new friends and see places with the Interact Club. Activities are held under the guidance of the Rotary Club where Interactors learn the importance of developing leadership, personal integrity, helpfulness, respect for others, and goodwill.

Lego Club

Lego Club is established to provide a fun environment for the younger learners to help with stimulating and developing spatial intelligence. Creatively, learners will build vehicles, buildings, and whatever leaps into their imaginations. This club is an excellent opportunity to offer your child a time to unwind, create, innovate and collaborate! Our teachers will equip learners with instruction manuals and assistance while they design and build!

Play-clay Club

Those tiny hand muscles and tendons need to build up some strength! The club is the perfect medium for this purpose while also developing imaginative play. Fret not about the mess because that's the only thing which makes it so fun! And oh yeah, these actions develop hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as well.

Drone Club

Unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, is a relatively new hobby. While most think that it's just about flying toys around, there is a groeing drone-enthusiast community which teaches learners how to build their own drones. Here, learners learn the basics of engineering by assembling their own drones.

Piano/Violin

Come and learn piano and violin, the two classical instruments which can improve a child's development. Music not only improves cognitive ability, but also increases creativity and hand-eye coordination.

Gardening Club

Green fingers are learned and earned. Get your children started on cultivating plants and respecting nature through the gardening club. Through gardening, our learners can learn sustainable living practices and might even bring back fresh produce for use at home.

Kiddopreneur Club

Get an early start on entrepreneurship. Our Kiddopreneur Club teaches learners the basics of doing business; learning about the concept of money, profit/loss, and the basics of free trade.

Nerf-gun Club

Nerf tag is a safe way for your children to learn about competition and sportsmanship. Fire away with colourful blasters and child-friendly darts. This club gives children some time to burn all that extra energy in a fun way. Parents are also encouraged to join in and support the children.

Lion Dance Club

The traditional lion dance is one of the most popular cultural performances in Malaysia. The complex movements are based on historical kung fu and your children will learn excellent balance and coordination. Learners will also learn to play traditional Chinese percussions in their performances.
